Il laboratorio propone quattro incontri in presenza dedicati all’indagine della drammaturgia performativa attraverso pratiche di collisione, frammentazione e ricomposizione. Partendo dal tema After the Crash, i partecipanti lavoreranno sull’idea che ogni drammaturgia nasca dall’incontro tra materiali eterogenei: memorie, documenti, corpi, immagini, sogni, archivi e finzioni. A partire dai lavori sviluppati in collaborazione con Janaina Leite (Stabat Mater, Camming: 101 Nights, Story of the Eye, Deeper e The Black Box), così come dalle carte drammaturgiche create da Lara Duarte nella sua ricerca accademica, il laboratorio affronta la figura del mostro come entità creativa generata dalla collisione di mondi e linguaggi diversi. Nel corso degli incontri, i partecipanti creeranno, smonteranno e ricomporranno materiali drammaturgici attraverso esercizi di scrittura, performance e composizione. La drammaturgia è intesa come un campo espanso e basato sul processo, in cui il testo non precede la scena, ma emerge dall’attrito tra corpo, documento, immagine e azione performativa. Piuttosto che produrre narrazioni coerenti, il laboratorio invita a esplorare ciò che sopravvive all’impatto: frammenti, fantasmi e forme inattese che emergono quando le strutture precedenti collassano.
ENG The workshop proposes four in-person meetings dedicated to the investigation of performative dramaturgy through practices of collision, fragmentation and recomposition. Starting from the Festival theme After the Crash, participants will work with the idea that every dramaturgy emerges from the encounter between heterogeneous materials: memories, documents, bodies, images, dreams, archives and fictions. Drawing on works developed in collaboration with Janaina Leite (Stabat Mater, Camming: 101 Nights, Story of the Eye, Deeper and The Black Box), as well as dramaturgical cards created by Lara Duarte during her academic research, the workshop approaches the monster as a creative figure born from the collision of different worlds and languages. Throughout the meetings, participants will create, dismantle and recombine dramaturgical materials through exercises of writing, performance and composition. Dramaturgy is understood as an expanded and process-based field in which the text does not precede the scene, but emerges from the friction between body, document, image and performative action. Rather than producing coherent narratives, the workshop invites participants to explore what survives after impact: the fragments, ghosts and unexpected forms that appear when previous structures collapse.
Janaina Leite è attrice, regista, drammaturga e ricercatrice post-doc presso la School of Communications and Arts dell’Università di San Paolo (USP). Negli ultimi anni, attraverso opere come Stabat Mater, Camming: 101 Nights e Story of the Eye – A Noir Porn Fairy Tale, ha indagato le intersezioni tra teatro e pornografia, con un particolare interesse per i linguaggi ibridi e la prospettiva “oscena”, che unisce teatro e performance, arte e vita, esplorando i confini sfumati tra pratiche artistiche e antropologiche. Il suo ultimo lavoro, Deeper, è un’esperienza immersiva in realtà virtuale che esplora ambienti digitali e stati dissociativi della coscienza in situazioni estreme. Questa ricerca ha dato origine anche alla lecture-performance The Material and Immaterial Body in Its Borderlines, presentata in Brasile, Cile e Portogallo. Unendo teoria e pratica, ha pubblicato “Performative Self-Writings: From Diary to Stage” (Perspectiva, 2014) e, nel 2025, “The Feminine and Abjection: Essays on the Contemporary (Ob)scene (Annablume)”. Le sue opere sono state presentate in diversi paesi tra cui Francia, Spagna, Portogallo, Cile, Belgio, Messico, Paesi Bassi e Germania.
Lara Duarte è drammaturga, regista, performer e ricercatrice brasiliana. Attualmente sta conseguendo un dottorato in Arti Performative presso UNICAMP (Universidade Estadual de Campinas – San Paolo), dove ha anche ottenuto il master con una ricerca sulla drammaturgia e la creazione interdisciplinare. È laureata in Arti Performative presso UFBA (Università federale di Bahia), ha seguito una formazione in Scrittura Drammaturgica presso la SP Escola de Teatro ed è autrice di “Gabiarras Sentimentais” (Patuá Publishing). Dal 2018 collabora stabilmente con la regista Janaina Leite, lavorando come drammaturga e assistente alla regia in opere come Stabat Mater (premio Shell Award per la drammaturgia), História do Olho, Camming – 101 Noites, Deeper e Caixa Preta. È autrice e regista di Zona de Sacrifício, presentato in prima assoluta al Quai de Scène di Strasburgo, Francia. È inoltre performer, drammaturga e regista di Pânico Vaginal, premiato alla São Paulo Short Film Week e al CRASH Fantastic Cinema Festival.
ENG Janaina Leite is actress, director, playwright, and postdoctoral researcher at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (USP). In recent years, through works such as Stabat Mater, Camming: 101 Nights, and Story of the Eye – A Noir Porn Fairy Tale, she has investigated the intersections between theatre and pornography, with a particular interest in hybrid languages and the ob-scene perspective, which brings together theatre and performance, art and life, exploring the blurred boundaries between artistic and anthropological practices. Her latest work, Deeper, is an immersive virtual reality experience that examines digital environments and dissociative states of consciousness in extreme situations. The research also gave rise to the lecture-performance The Material and Immaterial Body in Its Borderlines, presented in Brazil, Chile, and Portugal. Bringing together theory and practice, she published Performative Self-Writings: From Diary to Stage (Perspectiva, 2014) and, in 2025, The Feminine and Abjection: Essays on the Contemporary (Ob)scene (Annablume). Her works have been presented in countries including France, Spain, Portugal, Chile, Belgium, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Germany. She is currently developing the new project The Black Box, or How to Hide the Turtle, which explores death and image-making in the digital age.
ENG Lara Duarte is playwright, director, performer, and researcher. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Performing Arts at UNICAMP, where she also earned her Master’s degree, focusing on dramaturgy and interdisciplinary creation. She holds a BA in Performing Arts from UFBA, trained in Playwriting at SP Escola de Teatro, and is the author of Gambiarras Sentimentais (Patuá Publishing).Since 2018, she has maintained an ongoing artistic collaboration with director Janaína Leite, working as dramaturg and assistant director on works such as Stabat Mater, winner of the Shell Award for Dramaturgy, as well as História do Olho, Camming – 101 Noites, Deeper, and Caixa Preta. She is the writer and director of Zona de Sacrifício, which premiered at Quai de Scène in Strasbourg, France. She is also the performer, playwright, and director of Pânico Vaginal, awarded at the São Paulo Short Film Week and at the CRASH Fantastic Cinema Festival.
